Geopolitical Risk Forecast for Syrian Reconstruction

Overview: Engaged by a supranational European organization to provide a detailed geopolitical intelligence analysis to guide investment and stabilization efforts in post-conflict Syria following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024.
Scope: Analyzed the shifting regional power dynamics, including the roles of Turkey, Israel, Russia, and Iran. The project involved assessing risks to reconstruction projects, such as potential conflicts over resource control (e.g., oil and gas fields in eastern Syria), Turkish influence in Syria, and Israel’s airstrikes on Syrian military infrastructure. We delivered a strategic forecast using open-source intelligence, regional stakeholder interviews and scenario planning to evaluate potential outcomes, ranging from a stable transitional government to Libya-style fragmentation.
Outcome: Provided a risk assessment report that informed the organization’s €500 million reconstruction fund allocation, identifying secure zones for humanitarian and infrastructure projects while recommending diplomatic strategies to mitigate tensions with regional powers like Turkey and Russia. Crisis Management Training for a European Defense Coalition

Overview: Designed and delivered a tailored crisis management training program for a European defense coalition to enhance its personnel’s ability to respond to a simulated hybrid warfare scenario involving a coordinated cyberattack and regional unrest.
